Anthropic released new features for Claude on October 8, 2026, saying it can now generate animated explainer videos and live data dashboards from text prompts. It is the company's first major update to its AI model since the launch of Claude Design in 2025.

Anthropic reported more than 45 million documents have been created with these tools, measured across all user plans. That compares with the earlier figure of 30 million documents created with the previous set of tools.

The new features are built on Anthropic's internal platform and target businesses looking to streamline data visualization and content creation. Availability begins with paid users for dashboards and Team and Enterprise plans for Motion.

"Dashboards connects data sources like BigQuery, Databricks, Snowflake, or Salesforce and turns them into auto-updating live dashboards via text prompt," said Matthias Bastian, a contributor at thedecoder. The feature allows results to be piped into tools like Amplitude, Grafana, or Hex.

The announcement follows the earlier announced Claude Design, which will be folded into the main app by December 14. Anthropic said the tools have gained significant traction, which might be one reason Microsoft is reportedly cutting back on Claude usage.

Anthropic did not say how the new features will be priced, and raised the open question of how businesses will integrate these tools into their workflows. The company said a migration guide is available for users.
