What changed
On October 21, 2026, OpenAI announced the expansion of ChatGPT Ads to 26 new countries, increasing the total number of available countries to 89. This includes 14 additional Latin American countries, such as Argentina, Chile, Colombia, and Peru, as well as markets in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia, including Nigeria, South Africa, Serbia, Ukraine, Cambodia, Bangladesh, and Pakistan.
What this means in practice
Advertisers can now access ChatGPT Ads in these new countries through technology partners or self-service access via Ads Manager. The expansion allows businesses to reach users as they explore, compare, and decide on products and services within the ChatGPT interface. Ads will appear only on the Free and Go plans, while Pro and Enterprise subscriptions remain ad-free. OpenAI emphasized that ads are clearly labeled and separate from ChatGPT’s answers, and that customer data is not sold to advertisers.
Limitations and availability
The expansion does not include all regions, and advertisers must use either technology partners or Ads Manager to access the platform in the newly added countries. OpenAI also noted that the focus remains on expanding access to AI while maintaining its advertising principles. Businesses interested in advertising on ChatGPT can learn more at ads.openai.com.
