Cohere announced a proposed agreement to acquire AISLE, the company building autonomous systems to discover and remediate previously unknown vulnerabilities in critical software.
It is the company's latest step in its mission to build the world's leading sovereign AI platform, combining frontier AI models, agentic applications, secure deployment infrastructure, and advanced security capabilities that enable organizations to deploy AI with confidence.
Cohere reported that the acquisition reflects its continued investment in Europe. Following its acquisitions of Reliant AI and Aleph Alpha, the addition of AISLE would deepen its presence across the region and strengthen European AI and cybersecurity capabilities that help protect critical infrastructure, governments, and highly regulated industries around the world.
"AISLE's approach combines increasingly capable foundation models with specialized security expertise, large-scale code analysis, rigorous validation and automated remediation," said Ondrej Vlcek, who will become Senior Vice President, Cohere Cyber. This collaboration aims to build more capable cybersecurity systems while exploring how difficult, verifiable security problems can help evaluate and improve future models.
The announcement follows Cohere's expansion in Prague, where it plans to make a substantial long-term investment, expanding AISLE’s existing presence and establishing the city as its global center for AI cybersecurity and autonomous security systems.
Europe is becoming increasingly important in the development of sovereign AI, with governments and enterprises seeking technology partners that can deliver advanced AI capabilities while meeting stringent requirements around security, privacy, compliance, and data sovereignty.
Cohere did not say when the acquisition will close, and the open question remains about how quickly the combined capabilities will be integrated into its platform. The company plans to officially welcome the AISLE team to Cohere in the coming months.
