Google DeepMind has announced a new accelerator program aimed at addressing environmental challenges in the Asia-Pacific region. The initiative, titled "AI for the Planet," will run for three months and is designed to assist startups, research teams, and nonprofits in leveraging advanced AI technologies to solve problems related to nature, climate, agriculture, and energy. According to the company, selected participants will receive expert mentorship, tailored support, and assistance in integrating frontier AI and science AI models from Google AI experts into their projects or products.
The program will kick off with an in-person bootcamp in Singapore, providing participants with an opportunity to learn more and register their interest. This initiative reflects Google DeepMind's commitment to fostering innovation in sustainable technologies to combat the region's rising environmental risks.
