Meta is developing AI-powered glasses equipped with a feature called 'Super Sensing,' which continuously records the wearer's environment using cameras and microphones. According to multiple insiders, the glasses capture audio and take photos every few seconds, allowing users to query an AI about what they saw or heard. The initiative has already generated internal discussions about privacy concerns. Unlike Meta's current Ray-Ban smart glasses, the Super Sensing mode does not activate an LED light, leaving bystanders unaware when they are being recorded.
The project remains in the prototype stage, with potential changes still under consideration. Meta is also exploring the use of collected data to train its own AI models. The company previewed similar features at Connect 2025, aiming to build contextual awareness throughout the day to assist users with tasks. Meta's 'Project Aria' has been gathering first-person data for AI systems for years, following a similar approach.
The company declined to comment on internal prototypes but referenced its privacy-focused technology. Source: thedecoder
