Notion temporarily disabled access to all Anthropic models in its AI tools after a service disruption on June 7, 2026. The company reported that Anthropic’s Opus 4.7 and 4.8 models were experiencing degraded performance, leading to a higher failure rate for users. As a result, Notion disabled the use of all Anthropic models in its automated productivity tool. The issue was resolved within 12 hours, and access to the models was restored.

Notion’s head of product, Max Schoening, acknowledged the disruption, stating it was a temporary service issue. He noted that such disruptions are common across platforms like Notion, GitHub, AWS, and others. Schoening also mentioned that the post about the disruption had been widely shared, with around 1,200 retweets on X. He emphasized that the problem was resolved and that users could resume using the models without further issues.

An Anthropic spokesperson confirmed that a brief infrastructure issue caused elevated errors on multiple Claude models for a short period. The issue was resolved, and the company thanked users for their patience. The incident highlights the challenges of maintaining reliable AI services, even for major providers.
