PixVerse, a Singapore-based AI video startup, has achieved a valuation of over $2 billion following an extended Series C funding round. The company secured $439 million from investors, including Alibaba, Lollapalooza Capital, and Mirae Asset. Founded in 2023 by Wang Changhu, formerly of ByteDance, and Jaden Xie, PixVerse offers tools for video generation, film production, and world models for game development. The startup claims to have over 150 million registered users and 15 million monthly active users.

Co-founder Jaden Xie stated that only a few companies can deliver the required quality for AI video generation. He noted that OpenAI shut down Sora 2, and Meta and Tencent have struggled to develop high-quality video models. Xie emphasized that the key advantage lies not in the data itself but in how it is labeled. Wang Changhu, who previously developed visual AI technology for TikTok at ByteDance, brought that expertise to PixVerse, enabling precise data labeling and improved recommendations.

According to thedecoder, the competition in AI video generation remains intense. Companies like ByteDance, Midjourney, Google, Runway, and Luma are all advancing video and world models at a similar pace. Despite this, investors continue to show confidence in the potential of AI video generation, as evidenced by PixVerse's significant valuation increase.
