SOND, a Boston-based sleep tech startup co-founded by Bose's former Head of Sleep, Yadid Ayzenberg, has emerged from stealth with $7 million in funding. The company introduced its debut product, Dreambuds, a closed-loop in-ear system that captures 12 physiological signals from the wearer and uses real-time data to improve sleep. The device tracks respiration, heart rate variability, cardiorespiratory coupling, sleep staging, body position, snoring, and seismocardiography, with sensor data streamed to a cloud-based AI sleep coach that selects or generates sleep audio programs.
Users can interact with the AI coach via voice commands or double-tap gestures to request sleep insights or specific programs from SOND's library of over 500 audio options. The system operates independently of a phone, featuring Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, an OLED display, physical buttons, and a speaker for waking users via alarm. SOND aims to bring Dreambuds to mass production by Q2 2026 following a crowdfunding campaign and is currently accepting reservations.
