What changed
Taxbit, a digital-asset tax and accounting compliance platform, has introduced an AI assistant called Taxbit Assist within its dashboard. This AI agent is built on Amazon Bedrock AgentCore, enabling it to provide answers grounded in the product's knowledge base. The assistant helps compliance teams find answers directly within the dashboard, addressing previous challenges where knowledge was scattered across multiple sources.
What this means in practice
The AI assistant is designed to be role-aware, ensuring that users receive information appropriate to their access level within the platform. For example, it avoids guiding support users through admin-only workflows. Taxbit Assist is also compliant with ISO/IEC standards, including ISO/IEC 42001 for AI management systems and ISO/IEC 27001 for information security. The assistant does not provide tax advice, only product documentation, to maintain clear boundaries.
Limitations and availability
The AI assistant is currently available within the Taxbit dashboard and is built using the Strands Agents SDK on Amazon Bedrock AgentCore. It does not have access to customer tax data and can only perform actions related to support tickets. The solution uses Amazon Bedrock Guardrails to screen messages and ensure data privacy. The assistant's responses are sourced from a curated knowledge base, with content ingested from Taxbit's public website, API documentation, and help-center articles. The system also supports data residency by keeping inference within specific regions and allows for bring-your-own-key (BYOK) models for enhanced security.
