Vertu, a luxury smartphone brand, announced the Alphafold, a foldable phone powered by an AI agent designed to connect with enterprise software and coordinate workflows. The device targets executives managing business operations on the move, starting at $6,880 for the calfskin model. Higher-end versions include alligator leather, 18K gold, and diamond accents, with the highest-end model priced at $46,800. This aligns with Vertu’s strategy of positioning phones as luxury status symbols for affluent buyers. The Alphafold integrates Hermes Agent, built on the Hermes project by Nous Research, enabling connections to ERP and CRM systems for tasks like approvals and scheduling through natural-language prompts. Customization of Phone-to-ERP and VPS deployments is tailored to each customer’s existing systems, with varying pricing. The Alphafold can route requests across multiple AI models including GPT, Claude, Gemini, and open-source models, while integrating with over 80 apps and native phone functions. Vertu CEO Molly Ma noted that existing AI features on smartphones focus on consumer tools, leaving room for enterprise AI-agent workflows. The device features a privacy-focused architecture with a proprietary A5 security chip, isolating sensitive data from the main OS and processing commercial data locally. However, the system has not undergone third-party security audits yet, with such evaluations planned as part of the security roadmap. The Alphafold is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 4, includes an 8.05-inch foldable display, a 6.53-inch outer screen, a 6,500mAh battery, and satellite communication. The hinge, made of metal, titanium, and carbon-fiber, is rated for up to 650,000 folds. *Source: [techcrunch](https://techcrunch.com/2026/05/28/vertu-wants-ceos-to-run-companies-from-an-ai-foldable-starting-at-6880/)*
