Voice AI startup Ringg has secured $10 million in funding from Peak XV Partners, extending its Series A round and bringing the total raised in the round to $15.5 million. The company, which processes over 20 million call attempts monthly, is using the funds to expand its voice AI capabilities beyond basic call automation. Ringg, which began as a text-to-speech startup called DesiVocal, has pivoted to building voice AI agents for enterprises, serving clients like Flipkart, Practo, and PolicyBazaar. The investment comes as voice remains the preferred communication method for many Indian consumers, with over 76% preferring to talk to businesses rather than use a phone call.

Ringg’s co-founder Siddharth Tripathi said the company is focusing on more complex workflows, such as appointment booking for healthcare clinics and abandoned-cart recovery for e-commerce platforms. The startup now operates across 1,200 clinics for the healthcare app Practo, helping patients book visits or follow up on next steps. Voice calls still make up over 70% of Ringg’s business, but the company is also branching into chat and WhatsApp, as well as browser-based support for clients like Shell. Tripathi emphasized that Ringg aims to position itself as a platform for agents that deliver outcomes rather than just voice agents for enterprises.

Ringg’s technical depth, built from its origins as a research lab, allows it to tackle complex enterprise workflows end to end. Rishen Kapoor, a principal at Peak XV, noted that Ringg’s ability to complete higher-value tasks like merchant onboarding with quality and consistency sets it apart. Voice AI in India is a competitive market, with model makers and orchestrators vying for enterprise workflows. Ringg currently has 40 employees, with over 15 hired in the last three months, as it continues to expand its capabilities.
