AWS released managed entitlements for Amazon Bedrock, allowing organizations to streamline access to third-party AI models across multiple AWS accounts. The feature enables centralized management of AWS Marketplace Private Pricing Offers (MPPOs), reducing the operational burden of manual activation. This update follows AWS’s recent focus on improving governance and cost management for AI workloads.
AWS reported that managed entitlements provide faster time to negotiated pricing, as grants reach ACTIVE or WORKFLOW_COMPLETED without manual checks. The solution also ensures consistent handling across accounts, with the same AWS Lambda function and Amazon EventBridge rule pattern deployable for each organization. These improvements aim to enhance efficiency and reduce administrative overhead.
Managed entitlements are built on AWS License Manager and target organizations using third-party models on Amazon Bedrock. Availability begins immediately, initially for AWS Organizations with all features enabled. The solution supports two paths: a lightweight script for one-time activation and CDK automation for ongoing event-driven processing.
"Use the lightweight script when you want a one-time, no-infrastructure fix for received licenses you already trust," said AWS. "Use the CDK automation when you want ongoing event-driven processing that verifies sellers, creates and activates distributed grants." The solution allows for automated grant creation and activation, ensuring negotiated pricing applies once grants are active.
The announcement follows AWS’s recent emphasis on improving governance and cost management for AI workloads. AWS did not say how the solution handles SaaS products, which are out of scope for this automation. The feature is designed to help organizations manage private pricing offers efficiently, with activation deferred until License Manager completes the grant workflow.
