X released The X Subscription on October 12, 2026, saying it unifies Grok, Grok Bot, Cursor, and X Premium into a single plan. It is the company's first major software update since the launch of X Premium in 2024.

X reported that the new subscription includes a generous pool of Grok model usage shared across Grok and Cursor, with each comparable new tier providing more usage-per-dollar than the plan it replaces. That compares with the previous standalone plans, which were more expensive and less efficient.

The X Subscription is built on X's existing AI infrastructure and targets users who need integrated tools for thinking, creating, building, and sharing. Availability begins immediately for new customers, initially for all global users.

"We’re introducing The X Subscription, which brings together Grok, Grok Bot, Cursor, and X Premium in one plan," said X's Chief Product Officer. The new plan aims to streamline access to AI tools and improve user experience by reducing costs and increasing efficiency.

The announcement follows the company's recent focus on expanding its AI offerings and improving user engagement. X itself frames the significance of the update as a step toward offering a more cohesive and efficient AI ecosystem.

X did not say how the transition will affect existing users, and it raised the question of whether current plans will be phased out. The company stated that existing plans will remain unchanged until a future transition.
