Amazon announced the release of an automated resource promotion feature for Amazon Quick, enabling teams to move chat agents, action connectors, and knowledge bases between AWS accounts with ease. This update marks the first major enhancement to Amazon Quick since its initial launch as an agentic AI companion for enterprise workflows.

The new feature allows users to promote resources from a development account to a production account using an idempotent Model Context Protocol (MCP) server hosted on Amazon Bedrock AgentCore. This capability reduces manual effort and minimizes the risk of errors during resource migration, which previously required teams to reconfigure each component by hand.

Amazon Quick resources, including agents, connectors, and knowledge bases, are now programmable through the Amazon Quick API, which provides full lifecycle management for these assets. The migration process leverages this API to read and reapply resource configurations in a target account, ensuring consistency and auditability.

"Promoting resources between accounts used to be a tedious and error-prone process," said an Amazon representative. "With the new MCP server, teams can now automate the promotion of Amazon Quick resources in a single tool call, improving governance and reducing deployment time."

The announcement follows Amazon's broader push to enhance enterprise capabilities for its AI tools, emphasizing the need for streamlined deployment and governance in multi-account environments. Amazon did not specify the exact timeline for broader adoption but noted that the solution is currently available for use in enterprise settings.
