Amazon released Amazon Connect Talent, an AI-powered hiring tool, saying it streamlines the hiring process for talent acquisition leaders managing scaled hiring. It is the company's first major update to its hiring technology since its initial launch in 2020.
Amazon reported that the tool can process thousands of candidates daily, measured on its ability to handle high-volume hiring in industries like retail and logistics. That compares with previous tools that struggled with the same scale.
Amazon Connect Talent is built on AWS infrastructure and targets industries such as retail, logistics, hospitality, and others. Availability begins immediately, initially for organizations managing large-scale hiring needs.
"This is human-AI collaboration applied to hiring. AI handles the screening and evaluation, and recruiters focus on what matters most, making informed hiring decisions with the full picture in front of them," said Sarah Lacy, Senior Vice President of Amazon's Hiring Science. The tool provides recruiters with scored candidate summaries, complete transcripts, and clear evaluation reasoning for every score.
The announcement follows Amazon's ongoing efforts to integrate AI into its hiring processes, with the company emphasizing the importance of reducing time-to-hire for quality candidates. Amazon said the tool helps organizations fill roles before lost revenue, rising costs, and competitive disadvantage set in.
Amazon did not say how the tool will be priced, and the open question remains about how it will integrate with existing ATS systems. The company said it will continue to refine the tool based on feedback from early adopters.
