Amazon released GPT-6 Sol and Luna on Amazon Bedrock, saying it provides enhanced efficiency and intelligence for everyday tasks. It is the company's first major update to its GPT series since the launch of GPT-5.6.
Amazon reported a significant reduction in API pricing for GPT-6 models, measured against their GPT-5.6 predecessors. That compares with the previous pricing structure, which was higher.
GPT-6 Sol and Luna are built on Amazon Bedrock's high-performance inference engine and target complex coding tasks and high-volume focused workflows. Availability begins with general availability, initially for developers and enterprises.
"GPT-6 Sol is designed for demanding tasks that recur throughout development and operations," said OpenAI. "Improvements over GPT-5.6 Sol in coding and computer use help it carry a task from investigation through implementation and validation while preserving the context behind its decisions."
The announcement follows the launch of GPT-6 Astra, which set the upper end of the GPT-6 family for the most ambitious projects. Amazon framed the significance as an expansion of its AI offerings to support a broader range of use cases.
Amazon did not say how GPT-6 models will perform on specific benchmarks, and raised the open question of how the models will scale with increasing data volumes. The source says the models are now generally available for use.
