Amazon announced Live Data in Apps for Amazon Quick, enabling AI-built applications to access live, governed data in real time. This marks the first major update to Amazon Quick since its initial release in 2023.

The feature allows users to create and deploy web applications using natural language prompts without coding or DevOps steps. It is designed for business users who need up-to-date data in their applications, ensuring data is current and filtered according to user permissions.

The feature supports both SPICE and Direct Query datasets, making it versatile for different data sources and use cases.

"With Live Data in Apps, users can describe their app in natural language, and the AI agent builds and deploys the application," said Chris Slaughter, Principal Engineer at Amazon.

The AI agent automatically discovers relevant datasets, writes the necessary SQL queries, and ensures data is refreshed each time the app is accessed.

The announcement follows Amazon's recent focus on enhancing AI capabilities within its cloud services, aligning with its broader strategy to integrate AI into enterprise workflows.

Amazon did not specify the exact number of users who will initially use the feature, and it remains unclear how widespread the adoption will be. The company plans to provide more details on the feature's availability and pricing in the coming months.
