U.S. government agencies can now access advanced open-weight models on Amazon Bedrock within AWS GovCloud (US). These models include NVIDIA Nemotron and OpenAI GPT OSS variants, enabling secure and compliant AI applications for critical missions. This expansion allows agencies to leverage high-performance foundation models without compromising data security or regulatory compliance.
The new models support a range of use cases, including intelligence analysis, mission planning, and compliance automation, while ensuring sensitive data remains within the U.S. jurisdiction. NVIDIA Nemotron 3 Super 120B and Nano models, along with OpenAI’s 120B and 20B GPT OSS models, are now available. These models offer varying levels of performance and efficiency, tailored for different operational needs. For instance, NVIDIA Nemotron 3 Super provides up to 5 times higher throughput than its predecessor, while the Nano models reduce reasoning-token generation by up to 60 percent.
The release follows AWS GovCloud (US)’s commitment to supporting mission-critical workloads with stringent security and compliance standards. The service supports frameworks like FedRAMP High and DoD Cloud Computing Security Requirements Guide (SRG) Impact Levels 2, 4, and 5. This ensures that agencies can meet their regulatory obligations while accessing cutting-edge AI capabilities.
