BananaMind released BananaMind 2 Pro on 12 August 2026, saying it nearly matches the performance of SmolLM2, which was trained on 2T tokens. It is the company's first small language model update since the release of SmolLM-135M in 2026.
BananaMind reported a Base Bench score of 1138, measured on the Base Bench benchmark. That compares with a score of 1125 for SmolLM-135M.
BananaMind 2 Pro is built on a consumer GPU and targets small language model training and experimentation. Availability begins on 12 August 2026, initially for desktop PC users.
