Anthropic has introduced a new feature in its Claude Code sessions, allowing them to communicate across terminals on macOS and Linux. Instead of manually copying information between terminals, users can now send text summaries directly from one session to another. This capability enables seamless information exchange, improving productivity and workflow coordination.
According to Anthropic, the feature works both ways, allowing users to ask one session a question and receive the answer directly from another. The company also noted that Claude can initiate messages on its own, such as when a change affects what another session is working on. This functionality is designed to support use cases like sharing insights, coordinating parallel workflows, and checking status updates on long-running tasks.
The feature is available on the same machine locally, but for communication between different computers, messages route through Anthropic's servers, with only responses possible in that scenario. Admins can lock down the feature via settings, though it is not available on Amazon Bedrock, Google Cloud Agent Platform, or Microsoft Foundry. Source: thedecoder
