Cohere has launched North Automations, a new platform aimed at helping enterprises close the AI return on investment gap by enabling efficient, controlled, and governed AI workflows. The platform addresses challenges such as narrow workstreams, lack of governance, and high costs associated with current AI agent implementations. According to the company, these issues are limiting the ROI potential of agentic AI for enterprises.
North Automations is built on Cohere’s secure agentic platform, North, and allows users to create complex workflows through plain language inputs, manage costs by selecting appropriate models for each task, and maintain governance through approval processes and usage analytics. The platform supports deployment across on-premises and cloud environments and integrates with existing tech stacks using first-party integrations, custom tools, or SDKs.
Cohere highlighted use cases from its own business units, including a marketing automation tool that translates plain-language questions into SQL queries, a customer engagement tracker that pulls data from multiple sources, and a sales preparation tool that consolidates insights from various platforms. These examples illustrate how North Automations can enhance productivity and decision-making across different departments.
