DeepMind has launched the Fairwind Program, a limited access initiative for governments and trusted partners to use its most advanced cyber defense capabilities. The program aims to help organizations proactively manage cyber risks by providing access to powerful AI tools that can autonomously find and fix vulnerabilities. This initiative is part of DeepMind's broader effort to enhance global cyber resilience and protect critical infrastructure.
The Fairwind Program integrates DeepMind's most advanced cyber model, Gemini 3.8 Flash Cyber, with its CodeMender harness. This combination enables defenders to identify, verify, and resolve vulnerabilities quickly, reducing the time needed to manually fix issues from weeks to minutes. CodeMender with Gemini 3.8 Flash Cyber delivers specialized reasoning to write and validate code fixes at a lower operational cost compared to traditional frontier models. This approach allows organizations to generate verified, deployment-ready patches within their secure cloud environments.
The program is initially targeting government and enterprise partners critical to societal resilience, including public-sector networks, essential services in healthcare, telecommunications, energy, and finance, as well as core technology platforms. Participating organizations must adhere to strict operational standards, such as limiting access to internal cybersecurity teams and implementing multi-factor authentication. DeepMind has more than 650 global partners, including governments and cybersecurity leaders, who are already using Gemini 3.8 Flash Cyber to enhance their defenses.
