Encore AI, a startup that studies companies’ customer interactions to train and deploy AI voice agents, has raised $30 million in a Series A round led by Team8. The funding will support the company’s expansion and development of AI agents that learn from customer interactions, according to CEO Dvir Ginzburg.
The company, founded in 2022 as Insait IO, initially built recommendation software for financial advisers and relationship managers. It has since rebranded as Encore AI and expanded its system into a platform that analyzes conversations between employees and customers to identify successful approaches. This data is used to train AI agents that can mimic the strategies used by human employees, including sharing anecdotes or jokes that relationship managers use. Ginzburg described this process as 'interaction mining,' where the platform collects call recordings, emails, and text messages and connects them with CRM systems to analyze customer interactions.
Ginzburg emphasized that access to data alone isn’t enough for large CRM providers to replicate Encore’s approach, as they would need to overhaul their processes to make historical customer conversations the foundation of their AI agents. He noted that competitors like Salesforce, SAP, Zoho, and HubSpot do not currently utilize conversational history as a data point. Planven, Lukatz, and Garage also participated in the round, along with some banks and insurers. Some financial institutions that participated in the round first used the product before deciding to invest.
