Hugging Face released FiftyOne v3 dataset support on October 5, 2026, saying it now reads LeRobot v3 datasets natively. It is the company's first robotics data integration update since its initial release.
FiftyOne reported 497 episodes from 50 robot embodiments, measured across a community dataset. That compares with 1,755 contributor datasets previously. FiftyOne is built on open-source tools and targets robotics data analysis.
Availability begins with the community dataset, initially for robotics researchers. "FiftyOne now reads LeRobot v3 datasets natively with fo.types.LeRobotDataset.
Point it at a dataset folder, and every episode becomes a sample you can play back, filter, embed, and search," said Harpreet Sahota, Hugging Face blog author. The announcement follows the release of the LeRobot v3 dataset format.
Hugging Face did not say how the community will curate the dataset, and raised the open question of which episodes are worth training on.
The rest of this post uses that dataset to show three levels of working with robot data: viewing an episode, exploring the whole set, and understanding what's in it well enough to decide what goes into training.
