Availability begins with open access to researchers and healthcare providers, initially for scientists and medical professionals.
"We’re asking what’s possible for health, natural disaster and weather resilience, learning, and economic opportunity," said James Manyika, SVP, Research, Labs, Technology & Society. The tools are designed to improve disease detection, predict natural disasters, and expand learning opportunities globally.
The announcement follows the release of the AI & Economy ATLAS, which provides the most comprehensive look at how real people are using AI globally. Google said the tools are part of a broader effort to use AI to improve people's lives today and in the future.
Google did not say how the tools will be integrated into existing healthcare systems, and raised the open question of how to mitigate the challenges and risks of AI. The company said it is working with partners to expand the use of these tools in rural and underserved areas.
