Google has launched two new updates to its video creation tool, Google Vids, featuring Gemini Omni and personal avatars. These tools simplify video creation by allowing users to generate and edit high-quality clips using everyday language. With Gemini Omni, users can create videos by describing their vision, while personal avatars let them star in videos without setting up a camera. The updates are available for Google AI Pro and Ultra users and Google Workspace business customers. Personal avatars are currently limited to users in certain regions who are 18 or older.

Gemini Omni enables users to generate videos from text and image references, such as photos or sketches. The tool combines these inputs to produce a video that matches the user's description. Additionally, users can make step-by-step edits to their videos using natural language, allowing them to refine details like backgrounds, lighting, or effects without starting over. This feature makes the video editing process more intuitive and efficient.

Google emphasized the importance of transparency in AI-generated content, introducing SynthID digital watermarks to all generated clips. These invisible markers allow users to verify that a video was created with AI, ensuring responsible sharing of AI-generated content. The updates are part of Google's ongoing efforts to enhance video creation tools for both individual and business users.
