OpenAI has launched Health in ChatGPT for U.S. users, enabling secure connections to Apple Health and supported medical records. This feature allows ChatGPT to help users understand their health information in context, track changes, and engage in more informed conversations. The update builds on feedback from early testers and provides users with control over what data they connect and when ChatGPT can use it.

With user permission, ChatGPT can now access relevant health data to compare new results with prior tests, summarize changes since the last appointment, or explore how sleep, activity, and workouts relate to a user’s routine. This capability aims to reduce the need for repetitive data uploads and explanations, helping users feel more informed and take an active role in their health while supporting, not replacing, professional medical care. The update is available to logged-in users aged 18 and older on web and iOS across Free, Go, Plus, and Pro plans.

Health in ChatGPT is built with layered privacy and security safeguards. Connected medical records and Apple Health information are not used to train foundation models or target ads. Users can choose to let ChatGPT draw on relevant health data across conversations without needing to start within the Health experience. Health remains the home base for managing connected information, viewing recent data, and accessing past health conversations.
