A new startup, June, is aiming to simplify the complex process of deploying AI within enterprises, according to its founders. The company, backed by Marc Benioff’s Time Ventures and other tech luminaries, is addressing the growing demand for AI integration in corporate settings. June’s platform is designed to scan a company’s existing systems to understand its business processes, identify bottlenecks, and build more optimized, agent-powered processes to replace them. This approach is meant to reduce the reliance on forward-deployed engineers, a trend that has emerged as businesses struggle to implement AI reliably.
The founders of June, including Efrat Rapoport, a former Salesforce executive, previously worked on AI initiatives at the tech giant before launching their own company. They noted that many customers faced difficulties integrating AI into their existing platforms, which are often fragmented and complex. June’s solution involves automatically notifying teams through the company’s comms channels and providing a step-by-step guide for implementing AI agents. The platform is designed to make the process easier by allowing users to click 'build' on each task, with June handling the rest.
June’s approach is being tested in real-world scenarios, such as at CMG, a major U.S. mortgage lender. Paul Akinmade, the company’s chief strategy officer, said his team faced significant challenges integrating AI with Salesforce, a common data-management platform. June’s platform provided a clear roadmap and allowed his team to deploy agents safely, even before the official kickoff call between the two companies. Rapoport sees June as a tool that complements forward-deployed engineers and consultants, but its customers may prefer it for the opposite reason: it allows them to avoid the need for such specialists altogether.
