KPMG, one of the world's largest professional services firms with operations in 138 countries and territories, has announced a global alliance with Anthropic to integrate Claude into its core business and workforce. The partnership includes embedding Claude within Digital Gateway, the software used by KPMG's 276,000+ employees and clients to perform work, starting with new tools for tax and legal services. Every KPMG employee will gain access to Claude, expanding on two years of internal adoption in the U.S., including AI and Data Labs.
Anthropic has named KPMG a preferred partner for private equity, with both companies planning to develop new Claude-powered products for PE portfolio companies. The alliance also involves using Claude to enhance cybersecurity by identifying and resolving vulnerabilities in critical systems, guided by KPMG's Trusted AI framework. "Our clients depend on us where accuracy, judgment, and knowledge matter most," said Tim Walsh, Chair and CEO of KPMG US. "AI is changing how we deliver—trust and innovation are the core of this new offering and we’re proud to partner with Anthropic to deliver incredible value to our clients and our people.
It’s one of the most important things we'll do." The integration of Claude into Digital Gateway enables KPMG professionals and clients to build AI capabilities directly within the platform, streamlining tasks that previously required switching between multiple tools and chat windows. "Building an AI agent to help clients adjust to changing tax regulations used to take weeks and required teams to switch between multiple tools and chat windows," said Rema Serafi, Vice Chair, Tax at KPMG US. "With Cowork and Managed Agents integrated in Digital, that same capability takes minutes. This is a totally different way of working." KPMG is also positioning itself as a preferred consultant for private equity firms, helping them deploy Claude and Anthropic's agents into their portfolio companies to build AI-driven products and services responsibly.
