Manus released Manus 2.0 on September 29, 2026, saying it lets users edit videos, host multiplayer games, and run personal agents with their own phone numbers. It is the company's first major software update since its acquisition by Meta in late 2025.
Manus reported a 32 percent cost reduction in one tested configuration, measured on agent runtime, with the new Cascade agent harness using 23.2 percent fewer tokens than the previous system. That compares with the earlier system's token usage and cost, which the source does not specify.
Manus 2.0 is built on its AI agent platform and targets users interested in remote computing, video editing, and game development. Availability begins now, initially for users with access to the Cue app in free early access with an invite code.
"With Computer Use, Manus works with approved files and apps on the user's own machine, which users can also direct remotely from their phone," said Jonathan Kemper, the source of the information. The desktop app, now called Manus Studio, adds two environments, Video Editor and Game Dev, where users can adjust the output by hand.
The announcement follows Meta's acquisition of Manus in late 2025, which had to be unwound after Beijing blocked it. The source itself frames the significance as a shift in Meta's strategy toward its own agent, Muse, which also gives every user a cloud computer.
