Mistral AI released Robostral Navigate on July 8, 2026, saying it enables navigation using only a single RGB camera. It is the company's first robotics-focused update since introducing Mistral Medium 3.5 in May 2026.
Mistral reported Robostral Navigate achieved 76.6% on R2R-CE, measured on the Room-to-Room Navigation benchmark. That compares with no prior figure, as this is the company's first such model.
Robostral Navigate is built on Mistral's proprietary architecture and targets autonomous navigation in complex environments. Availability begins in the third quarter of 2026, initially for developers and research institutions.
"Robostral Navigate represents a significant step forward in making AI accessible for robotics applications," said Jean-Baptiste Courtois, Chief Technology Officer at Mistral. "This model is designed to be adaptable and efficient for a wide range of robotic systems."
The announcement follows the release of Mistral Medium 3.5, which enhanced coding capabilities in Vibe. Mistral itself frames the significance of Robostral Navigate as a milestone in expanding AI's role in robotics.
Mistral did not say when the model will be available for commercial use, and the company raised the open question of how to scale the model for real-world applications. The source says the model will be further refined before broader deployment.
