Plaud, a hardware company with over 2.5 million users, has launched its latest product: the Plaud One, a pair of AI-powered earphones. The device, which adopts the simple, bare-bones design of Apple’s AirPods, can record calls and features a case that allows users to record in-person conversations or take notes. The earphones also include active noise cancellation and 12mm drivers, offering a premium audio experience. The case can capture voices clearly within a five-meter range, and the earphones can record six hours of in-person meetings and three hours of calls on a single charge. Combined with the case, users can record up to 25 hours of conversations on a single charge.
The Plaud One introduces a unique feature: an eSIM-enabled case that allows users to interact with Plaud’s AI agents remotely without using their phone or computer. The AI agent can connect to tools like Gmail, Google Calendar, Notion, and Slack, enabling tasks such as writing follow-up emails and creating documents or presentations based on conversations. The company also offers 300 minutes of free transcription per month, with additional plans starting at $8.33 per month. Buyers of the Plaud One will receive $200 in credits for agentic tasks, which are expected to be introduced via an upcoming update. The company is also conducting a limited launch to gauge market demand for AI-focused earphones.
Plaud’s CEO, Nathan Xu, emphasized the need for a wearable, always-ready interface for interacting with AI, stating that earbuds meet this requirement. However, the company faces stiff competition from established brands like Apple, Google, and Samsung, which offer similar functionality through their existing earbuds and note-taking apps. Despite this, Plaud aims to position its meeting-recording tech within a popular wearable format. Users can preorder the Plaud One for $249, with shipments expected in the fourth quarter of 2026.
