Profound announced it has raised $180 million in Series D funding at a $1.8 billion valuation, less than seven months after its last round. The company, which builds marketing software to help brands appear in AI search results, said the round was led by Sequoia and Kleiner Perkins, with existing investors also participating.
The company reported its revenue has increased by 3x in the past six months, measured against the previous period. It now has more than 1,000 enterprise customers, including Comcast, The Estée Lauder Companies, and Walmart. This growth highlights the increasing demand for AI-driven marketing solutions.
Profound is built on generative engine optimization and answer engine optimization technologies, targeting brands looking to surface their products in AI systems customers increasingly use for search. Availability of its services continues to expand, initially for enterprise clients.
"We are excited to see the rapid adoption of our platform by leading brands," said Dominic-Madori Davis, founder and CEO of Profound. "Our focus remains on helping businesses understand how AI helps consumers discover their brands, and we are seeing strong traction with our current offerings."
The announcement follows a surge in interest in the AEO space, with companies trying to find ways to surface their products in AI systems. Profound did not say how it plans to use the funds, and it remains to be seen how the market will respond to its continued growth.
