SpaceXAI released Grok 4.7 on September 21, 2026, saying it is twice as fast as comparable models at half the price. It is the company's first major update to its model series since the launch of Grok 4.6.
SpaceXAI reported Grok 4.7 scored 46.3% on CursorBench 4.0, which stresses longer-running coding tasks, compared to 40.4% for Grok 4.6. The model also achieved 71.0% on DeepSWE v1.1, a benchmark for software engineering tasks.
Grok 4.7 is built on a new, larger base model and targets complex coding and knowledge work. Availability begins today in Cursor and Grok Build, initially for developers and professionals.
"Grok 4.7 is our most capable model for coding and knowledge work," said SpaceXAI. "It works longer on difficult tasks, checks its own work more carefully, and comes with our best-calibrated safeguards to date."
The announcement follows the release of Grok 4.6, which marked a significant step in the company's model development. SpaceXAI did not say when Grok 4.8 will be released, and the company noted that further improvements are planned for future versions.
