Mistral AI has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Emmi AI, a leader in Physics AI, to strengthen its position as an AI transformation partner for industrial enterprises. The acquisition aims to expand Mistral's models' ability to understand and model physics, enabling AI agents to use existing engineering tools. Mistral AI is building leading AI systems to accelerate engineering and manufacturing globally. With Emmi AI's expertise in Physics AI, the company seeks to build best-in-class agents for engineers, advancing its Science roadmap and leveraging unique industrial data.

Founded in Austria, Emmi AI has developed state-of-the-art large engineering models that empower industrial players to replace multi-day computations with real-time simulations and build digital twins to optimize asset operations. Emmi's co-founders and over 30 researchers and engineers will join Mistral AI's Science and Applied AI teams in May. This strategic move cements Mist's leadership in industrial AI, positioning it as a partner for manufacturers in sectors like aerospace, automotive, and semiconductors. "This acquisition marks a turning point for industrial innovation.

By engineering the first comprehensive AI stack fueled by Physics AI, we are set to deliver real-time simulations and sophisticated digital twins. We aim to break through long-standing technical barriers that have slowed progress for decades, enabling our partners to solve the world’s most daunting engineering challenges," said Guillaume Lample, co-founder and Chief Science Officer, Mistral AI.
